Physical Changes
With the affirmative vote of the church body on January 15, there will be significant physical changes coming to the facilities of First Church of the Nazarene.
The sanctuary will receive a dramatic makeover with a new baptistry, additional audio/visual equipment and capabilities, a redesigned platform, and repainting of the interior walls.
The outside appearance will change dramatically as well. New construction will provide a 200% increase of foyer or narthex space. An enhanced welcome area for our guests, a space for a quick cup of coffee or juice, fellowship room, and a handicap access lift to the sanctuary level or the basement level below.
The entrance of the church will be enlarged to allow for a drive though drop off under a new awning to protect our people from the elements during harsh weather. A new ramp access to the church entrance will also provide additional options for handicapped guests and members.
As the drawings illustrate, the architectural scheme will maintain the previous designs motif but will significantly improve the drive-up presence of the building. Hopefully this project will begin in the second half of January and be completed in late summer or early fall.

 The New NPNaz!
2006 promises to be a watershed year in our church's ministry and vision! For some time our church's leadership has envisioned a growing and dynamic church life including new construction and redesigned facilities as well as an enhanced ministry program to allow for increased impact for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The illustrated physical changes will certainly go a long way in providing a context for welcoming new friends into our church's life and ministry. The enhanced welcoming area and foyer space will provide a warm environment to greet new and old friends alike. We can chat over a fresh cup of coffee or orange juice before or after worship time in the newly redesigned sanctuary.
Our ministry capacity is also growing as we plan to welcome a new member to the professional staff of the church. The present arrangement of having one staff member for both music and youth will change and allow each of those important areas to be staffed individually. This will obviously allow for both ministries to grow in both size and quality. This new development will realize a dream long held by the church board to allow for increased outreach and assimilation of new friends into our church family fellowship.
